Second ASPS national course on “Leadership development and political representation”
The second national course of the Albanian School of Political Studies on the topic "Leadership development and political representation", was held on 18-20 May in Durrës. Thanks to the best expertise as well as open discussions, participants of the program had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and be trained on important aspects of their careers.
Local authorities participated at the second course of Leadership Academy
Over 20 mayors and other top local government leaders participated on the second "Leadership Academy Programme" training course on 16-18 May 2018 in Golem. The courses combined theoretical approaches with practical policies and solutions to daily life problems of LGUs.
Opening workshop of Policy Research for Young Academics
The opening workshop of the Policy Research for Young Academics programme was held in Tirana on 16-18 May 2018. The training for 10 selected researchers was conducted by Mr. Eoin Young and Mr. Ashot Khurshudyan, both experts of the International Center for Policy Advocacy (ICPA), in consultation with PERFORM and Academy of Political Studies (ASP).
MPs and Parliament Staff Trained on Energy and Climate Issues
An informative seminar was organized on Friday in the Albanian Parliament, with the subject: “The role of the Members of Parliament in drafting and monitoring energy efficiency policies and climate issues”.
Signed the MoU on the program of young academics
The municipality of Tirana has further formalized today the engagement on the program of young academics implemented by PERFORM and Academy of Political Studies. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Mayor Erion Veliaj and the Project Manager Mr. Martin Dietz. Thanks to this partnership, it is intended to create a group of young researchers who will assist the Municipality of Tirana in drafting its policies.
APS starts the implementation of the programme against violent extremism
The Academy of Political Studies initiated the implementation of a new project on fostering youth and communities resilience to violent extremism. This intervention is based on the experience in civic education of youth in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and thanks to the best expertise provided by the Council of Europe.
APS submit its recommendations on electoral reform
The Academy of Political Studies officially submitted its recommendations to the ad-hoc Parliamentary Commission on Electoral Reform in order to improve the process of electoral administration. These recommendations are based on several years of APS experience in implementing the first time voters education program in co-operation with the CEC and the Ministry of Education.
Open call for application for young academics
PERFORM in collaboration with the Academy of Political Studies (APS) is launching the first call for applications under the programme “Support the establishment of the policy research for young academics”. Up to 10 young researchers will be selected to be part of a seven month long programme on designing and conducting policy relevant research commissioned by the Municipality of Tirana
First ASPS national course on political campaigns and elections
The first national course of the Albanian School of Political Studies took place in Pogradec from 9 to 11 March 2018. The guest lecturers shared with the participants the best of national and international practice.
Leadership Academy Programme first training course
The first LAP training was held from 28 February – 2 March 2018 at hotel “Bleart”, in Durres, with the participation of 23 mayors, locally elected representatives and senior civil servants.The program of the Center of Expertise of the Council of Europe, is implemented in the context of the Swiss-funded project: Strengthening of Local Government Structures in Albania (Phase III).
