APS organised the summer school on Media literacy
The Academy of Political Studies (APS) in cooperation with the OSCE Presence in Albania, in the frame of its mission to train young generation, implemented a Summer School on Media literacy and Media professionalism for thirty-five high school students and fours teachers.
School of Political Studies graduates new generation of aspiring political leaders 2013-2014
During a graduation ceremony today the Albanian School of Political Studies(ASPS) handed over diplomas to a new group of students. All 22 students were issued diplomas upon successful completion of a one-year period of study.
The ASPS participants organised a roundtable on the efficiency of the judicial system
The roundtable on the ‘The efficiency of the Judicial System in relation to the judicial proceedings within a reasonable time period’, was organised on 12 June 2014, at the EU Info Centre premises in Tirana. The event was part of the public initiatives organised by the participants of the “Albanian School of Political Studies”
Municipal officials with in-depth knowledge on energy efficiency
Energy legal framework in Macedonia and In the EU, basic guidelines and suggestions in regards to the development of municipal programs on energy efficiency, techniques and mechanisms for recording energy consumption, ESCO companies, energy efficiency in public procurement - these were some of the topics and contents which were presented during the first training devoted to municipal officials
ASPS seminar on "Albania and the European Court of Human Rights"
The ASPS third seminar on the "European justice - Albania and the European Court of Human Rights" was held in Tirana on 17 May 2014. The keynote speaker was Mr. Xhezair Zaganjori, chairman of the Supreme Court of Albania and lecturer of international public and human rights law in the Public University of Tirana.
A new School of Political Studies opens its doors in Turkey
On 3 April 2014, in the margins of the annual spring meeting of Schools’ Directors, the Council of Europe and Mr Osman Kavala, Director of Anadolu Kültür in Istanbul, signed a Partnership Agreement officially establishing a European School of Politics in Turkey and thereby becoming the 20th member of the Council of Europe Schools of Political Studies Network.
Third national course “Albania and the trends of European integration” – Durres, May 2014
The third national course of ASPS on “Albania and the trends of European integration” was held in Durres from 2– 4 May 2014. The course objective was to provide the participants with substantial knowledge on the EU and the European integration process, in order to help them better understand Albania’s challenges in its path towards the EU. The key speakers were lecturers and experts as the Deputy Minister of Integration Mr. Gentian Elezi ; Mr . Adrian Civici , president of the EUT and Mr . Gledis Gjipali , executive director of the EMA. The internal organization of the European Union and its diplomatic service was presented by the French diplomat and an ex-member of EU delegation mission staff in Tirana, Mr. Hubert Petit.
Kick-off meeting of the IPA CBC project, Pogradec
In the framework of the IPA CBC project “Initiative to enhance public dialogue on sustainable use of energy”, a kick-off meeting was held on 30 April2014 in the City Hall premises in Municipality of Pogradec. The aim of this activity was to bring together all the relevant local stakeholders in the four regions (Korca, Pogradec, Bitola and Kicevo) and at the same time the presentation of findings of the survey on the energy consumption in the four regions.
Second national course: “Leadership and political communication” - Gjirokaster

APS participates in discussion for increasing election commissioners’ professionalism
The Academy of Political Studies (APS) was part of the roundtable on the best practices and platforms for the training of electoral commissioners, organized on 31 March 2014 by the Central Election Commission (CEC) with the support of the OSCE Presence and the Council of Europe’s office in Albania.
