APS publications on energy efficiency and public participation

APS part of the regional conference on sustainable energy and climate changes

The Academy of Political Studies is one of the partners which will organise the regional conference “Energy. Development. Democracy: How successful policy dialogue can ensure sustainable use of energy and climate protection in South East Europe?”, in Podgorica on September 29–30.

ASPS alumni involved in Justice Reform in Albania

Following the collaboration started with ad hoc Parliamentary Commission, the alumni has been invited again to provide their recommendations on two important documents approved by the Commission, namely the "Strategy of Reform in Justice System" and the "Action Plan" of this strategy.

Meeting with the candidate mayor Gjergj Bojaxhi

The APS alumni and participants organized on 11 June 2015, an open discussion with the independent candidate for mayor of Tirana, Mr. Gjergj Bojaxhi. The debate focused on the vision and program of a candidate proposed by citizens and constitutes an innovation in the transparency way regarding the financing of its electoral campaign.

Third national course “Albania and the trends of European integration”

The third national course of ASPS on “Albania and the trends of European integration” was held in Durres from 29-31 May 2015. The course objective was to provide the participants with substantial knowledge on the EU and the European integration process, in order to help them better understand Albania’s challenges in its path towards the EU.

The Justice reform, ASPS alumni exchange ideas with parliamentary commission

The alumni and participants of the “Albanian School of Political Studies” were part of the debates organised with experts and group of interest held by the special Parliamentarian Commission on Justice Reform. The meeting was held on 12 May 2015, at the premises of the Parliament, with the presence of the chairman of the Special Commission, Mr. Fatmir Xhafaj and the constitutionalist, Mr. Luan Omari

APS implements awareness raising campaing for first time voters

Since March, the Albanian Academy of Political Studies is implementing an awareness raising campaign addressing about 35 000 first time voters in all the secondary schools in Albania. This programme is part of the Council of Europe action plan to support the local elections on 21 June 2015 in Albania and benefits also from the generous contribution of the Swiss Embassy in Tirana.

Second national course on “Leadership and public engagement”

The second national course of the Albanian School of Political Studies programme took place in Gjirokaster from 17-19 April 2015. The course was composed of two sessions, each following a specific aim and methodology.
