The third course of the Albanian School of Political Studies took place in Hotel International Vlore, from 14-17 April 2011. The focus of this course was good governance, globalisation and sustainable development vs. democracy. The module was structured to introduce and develop the understanding of school participants about major concerns related to governance and sustainable development in the world today. It tackled from contemporary economic schools of thought to current development debates in the country in the light of democratic changes. Prominent lecturers from academia and think tank and international agencies experts on economic and development matters provided the participants with a rich set of references both in theoretical and practical terms. Key for understanding aspects of good governance and implementation of public policies were practical examples from National Strategy for Integration and Development.
